If we thought yesterday morning was an
early wake-up call, today was even earlier! After a
quick breakfast and sudden change of departure time, we were
out at the fields 30 minutes earlier than we had expected to
be. After an emotional and hard-fought game, we rushed
back to the hotel. We had 25 minutes for everyone to
shower and be ready to walk out the door to go to a luncheon
with our sister team, the Carmel Commotion. A great meal
aside, we had an emotional few minutes with the girls, their
parents, coaches and their club staff. As a group
with both teams united, we took some pictures and had some
laughs until it began to rain. In order to keep from
melting, we headed back to our hotel for some rest before our
team meeting.

Due to having limited TV channel
selections, our room proceeded to watch 2 hours of “Murder
She Wrote” (a classic and highly recommended by us).
Because our team meeting was scheduled to take place in the
hallway at 8PM, we were forced to miss the crucial final 2
minutes of the show! We will never know if Mrs. Fletcher
(not related to our Rachael) caught the bad guys but given her
past experiences, we assume that she did.

After our team meeting (which started 5 minutes late, I
might add), we drank some smoothies and got changed for our
pool workout. We spent 20 minutes in the pool stretching
and testing our synchronized swimming abilities. I
believe that we would be very poor synchro swimmers, but we
did get stretched out pretty well. After scaring the
only boy in the elevator on the way up, we scampered off to
bed in anticipation of our much earlier wake up call tomorrow
at 5:30AM!

The alarm rang way too soon this morning,
the team breakfast was scheduled for 9:00AM. We picked up our
bagels and yogurt and went back to have our version of
breakfast in bed.
A brisk walk down the boardwalk at
Downtown Disney was good to stretch out the legs from the
previous day’s travel and the training session at Disney.
We’ve trained very hard and feel we are prepared for the
task at hand. As we stroll through the stores at Downtown
Disney, we find ourselves transformed into the princess’
which we all are. On the way back to the hotel, we found out
what was in store for us for the evening as the sun and
humidity beat down on us.

We got back to the hotel and some of us
returned to our rooms to rest up while others checked out the
dance competition in the hotel. We hoped we would see our new
friends from the night before who we watched practice their
routine to “Carwash!” Although we didn’t see our
friends, these girls were so cute and would for sure win the
competition if they incorporated some of our amazing dance
moves into their routines!! Million Dollar Baby was next on
our agenda, followed by lunch and of course Oprah.
Time to leave for the game…FINALLY! We
were all eager to get out and play some soccer! We all
separated into our designated vans and began to pump up for
the game. I can’t speak for all the other vans but mine
experienced a little crisis. Our jams weren’t coming though
on our radio and we weren’t able to pump up to the best of
our ability (and believe me, we know how to pump up!). By the
time it was fixed, we were at the fields but we did get in a
good few seconds on Vamos A La Playa!!
Game time…
Shortly after we returned to the hotel we had a meeting
discussing our outcome and plans for tomorrow’s game. We
finally fulfilled our talking tummy’s as we walked down the
ironing board tables filled with food in the hall. By this
time we are exhausted and our beds our calling our names! End
of day one…

Dressed for the Luncheon!
