On Saturday
morning, we all woke up early for a team breakfast downstairs in the hotel. After
breakfast, we began the horrible task of packing before heading out at about 12:00 for a
fifteen minute run. We packed and just chilled for the next couple of hours and then went
for a team dinner at House of Blues at Downtown Disney. We had an early curfew so we could
get plenty of sleep for the biggest game of our lives the next day. We woke up early again
on Sunday for another team breakfast downstairs (this time with Goofy, Pluto, and Minnie).
Then we had a quick team meeting before heading out to the field. We were all pretty
nervous, but had faith in each other, and knew that we were capable of winning. The heat
was really intense, but we were playing well and managed to score in the first half. We
held off the Michigan Hawks in the second half and WON!!!!! Everyone was so excited; it
was the best feeling in the world:) There was an awards ceremony where we were given HUGE
medals, Adidas backpacks, and champion shirts and hats. It was amazing!! We're all so
happy - we have worked long and hard for this and we deserve it. M u S t A n G b L a S t =
#1 in the USA!!!!!!

Cath and Louth here with your daily update! Today half of the team woke up to go watch
Maryland U-16 boys play. The other half of us stayed at the hotel and relaxed. Then at
12ish we met up to go to lunch at a place called The Earl of Sandwich. It was deeeelish!
We recommend not getting the smoothies, but the sandwiches are superb! After lunch we came
back and chillaxed (chill/relax for those slow learners out there). We met up with the
U-16 and U-17 boys and we made small talk on the second floor (a popular hang out spot).
Before we knew it, it was 4 o'clock and time for our pre-game meeting. We talked about
strategies and got our game face on. No matter the outcome of the game, we were going to
the Championships. That definitely changed the way we played. Meghan Doyle scored a goal
in the first half, but in the end we tied Texas 1-1. Afterwards we all split up for dinner
and then came back to the hotel to get some rest. THE END! Lovies!!!!!!

On Thursday morning our team went to IHOP for a pump up breakfast. Everyone was so
excited for today's game because we knew that if we won we would automatically go to the
championship game on Sunday. After we ate we came back to the hotel and talked our friends
from the other teams. At 3:00 we met in Bria's room and ate fruit and carbohydrates for
energy. We left for the game at 5:00 and warmed up until our game began at 6:30. Although
we came out strong, within the first twenty minutes two goals were scored by the Michigan
Hawks putting us behind 2-0. But we didn't quit, and Keelin quickly scored a goal for us!!
Michaela assisted. At half-time it was 2-1 and Pat told us that we weren't only going to
tie the game, but we were going to win it! We all remembered that 2-0 is the worst lead to
try to hold in soccer. The second half started, and within fifteen minutes Michaela had
scored from a pass from Keelin to tie the game at 2-2. The spirit of our team was lifted
and now it was a whole new game. For the next twenty-five minutes we played our hearts out
with each team equally aggressive. In the last thirty seconds Natalie was fouled near the
corner of the box giving us a free kick. Emily crossed the ball in and Lindsay flicked the
ball with her head into the back of the net! We celebrated and ran back. Five seconds
later the referee blew the whistle! We had just made our greatest comeback winning the
game 3-2. Later that night Pat allowed us to go to the pool and we had a pool-side pizza
party! Our team was so pumped, yet exhausted, and we all headed to our rooms at 11:00. It
was easy to fall asleep that night knowing we had made one of our best comebacks ever!!

Yesterday we didn't have a game so for the first time all week we slept in late and got
to have a little FUN!!!! Most of the team slept in to about 10:30 and then got ready to go
to lunch and a movie. After a long and very hot walk, we arrived at Earl's Sandwich's for
a yummy lunch:) Then the team went to the theatre where most of us saw 'White Chicks.' It
was kind of dumb, but it had its funny moments. After the movie, we all rushed back to the
hotel to get ready for a 6:30 practice. We did a quick warm-up, a little possession, and
then a rousing game of team handball. After practice, the team went straight (yes that's
right, all sweaty and smelly) to dinner at the Macaroni Grill where we created our own
pastas. When we got back to the hotel, we convinced our coach into pushing back curfew to
11:00 so we could go out and talk to the boyz!!! Then we went to our rooms and chatted for
a while before going to get some beauty sleep to get ready for our big game the next day!!
Go Blast!!!

Today we got
off to an early start at 5:30AM (WHICH FEELS LIKE 2:30 AM TO US IN CA!). We went down to
the cafe to have breakfast and loaded into the cars nervous for our game at 7:30 against
New Jersey's PDA Fury. It was a very challenging game but we were able to squeeze out a
win in the last 5 minutes of the game to win 1-0! After our victory some of our team went
out to breakfast while the rest came back to the hotel. Later today about half our team
ended up going to MGM Studios for awhile to have some fun. We had a blast in the evening
hanging down by the pool, meeting new teams, and hearing about their exciting games. We
seem to be off to a good start since we are the only team in our age group that won....
lets hope it continues! Tomorrow we don't have a game but we plan on resting A TON
tomorrow to be ready on Thursday to take on the Michigan Hawks! We'll keep ya updated!
G'nite!

Today was one of the most adventurous days so far. First, we had to be down in the
lobby by 6:45... well, Michaela, Lou, Heather, and Keelin slept through the wake up call!
Lou woke us up at 6:47 yelling, "Get up! It's 6:47!" Michaela, Lou, and Keelin
literally jumped out of bed and through on their clothes while HEATHER was in bed
stretching. Michaela, Lou, and Keelin yelled at Heather to get going but she seemed to be
in a daze and did not know what was going on. Heather rolled out of bed and strolled to
the bathroom. Michaela, Lou, and Keelin were ready to go at 6:53 and were out at the
elevator waiting for Heather. She didn't come out so Lou ran to the door while Keelin was
holding the elevator door open. Lou knocked on the door very angrily (haha!) and Heather
answered, "What?" Lou explained what had happened and Heather ran out 2 minutes
later finally understanding why we were in a rush!!!! So then we went to practice. We took
a jog and did some sprints and then we scrimmaged for 15 minutes. We raced back to the
hotel to get ready for the Luncheon. Everyone got ready and we headed down to the lobby.
We went to the luncheon where we saw many, many cute young gentlemen (haha!). After the
luncheon we changed out of our dresses/skirts and wandered around the hotel. We then left
for dinner at The Rainforest Cafe. GO BLAST! YOU KNOW!

HeyHey! Today was our first full day in the rainy, humid Orlando, Florida. We woke up
around 9 and met with our team at around 10:30 to start our adventurous day! We took a bus
to Disney World where we spent 4-8 hours of our day. After walking through the gates into
the "happiest place on earth," our team decided to split up. We (Weasel and Jen)
ventured off with Emo, Katie, and Bria, and later met up with Meghan, Shay and the rest.
We went on the tea cups, space mountain, pirates of the caribbean, and the haunted
mansion- riding these semi-intense rides in the pouring rain. How pleasant! Walking in
dirty puddles was amazing! Lots of pictures were taken and memories made, along with much
money spent in the disney stores. Tinkerbell and the "Princesses" seemed to be
the most popular characters among the studly group. We were able get free hotdogs (props
to awesome pimpin) and close to getting free playing cards and chocolate ice cream with
sprinkles. We also became close friends with a three-year-old talking garbage can. SCORE!
Had a great time at Disney World, but were all anxious to get back to the hotel for
healthy food, cleansiness, and rest.
For the first time, our team isn't concentrated on the hotties in the hotel's vicinity
yet (...just wait...), but we'll see how that all plays out. We just ended our team
meeting in Pat's and Doug's room where all the rules were set. Hmmmph. Our team will make
the best of everything though. We, Cali girls, sure know how to have fun! Well, this is a
wrap. We have to meet tomorrow at 7:45 for some early training and get back in time to get
prettied up for *our debut*!!!
Think we're going to do well this tourny and win one more championship (knock on wood)
This is our time! Yeah Blast! woopwooop! YOU KNOW!
ps. heard we had our mug shots and profiles in the newspaper at home today. Stars
already.. no way! |
