known in Colorado Youth Soccer circles. In addition to being a very
respected Grade 7 referee, Will has played premier level soccer with
Fort Collins Arsenal. Now a student at the University of Nevada,
Las Vegas, he is pursuing a degree in criminal justice, but
continues to love officiating games wherever and whenever he can.

accomplished official and has worked Colorado’s State Cup and the
Far West Regionals for 5 years running now.
Throughout his high
school years, Will was not only an accomplished student, he
volunteered his time as a mentor to younger students and was a
standout on his high school soccer team. He enjoys mentoring, and
has done so both in the academic arena and with in his local
community of Loveland with other young aspiring referees. Will was
named as one of the top 300 male leadership junior classmen in
Colorado. That honor sent him to numerous conferences which
included a trip to Washington, D.C.

It’s no wonder that
this high school senior from Pleasanton, CA was Cal North’s
choice for State Young Female Referee of the Year. While her
true passion is competitive dance, Suyeu has shone in many other
aspects of her life. While she left soccer as a player at the
tender age of 8, she soon rejoined the sport her dad and
brothers loved so much to become a referee. Now a grade 8 (with
sights set firmly on Grade 7) she takes all the games her busy
schedule will allow.
And “busy” is
probably an understatement. In addition to her soccer and dance
activities, Suyeu is an accomplished student, with numerous
college acceptance letters to her credit. Her focus in the
college she chooses will be business and psychology. Beyond the
classroom, Suyeu works as a scholastic tutor, a dance
instructor, and currently works at and math and reading center
for young students.
Region IV is
pleased to name Suyeu Erica Kuo as its Young Female Referee of
the Year for 2010. |
